I spent Sunday night at Ominous Descent’s media night in Winter Haven, and wow… this haunt wrecked me (in the best possible way). This was my first time experiencing the 2025 season, and let me tell you—I was not ready for how scary, detailed, and downright immersive it would be.

The Storyline 👻
This year’s theme is Resident Misery, and the lore is pure nightmare fuel. Dr. Covington has returned to the Lake House—but it’s no normal house call. He’s joined by his Caretakers, who wear the skinned faces of past patients (yikes), and together they’re experimenting with electric shock therapy and mind control to create a whole new breed of sadistic residents. Creepy enough? Just wait until you meet them in the dark…
The Experience 🩸
This is immersive horror at its best. From the second I stepped inside, I was fully in it. The characters are insanely detailed, the masks are terrifying, and the cast gave it their absolute all. Every actor was locked in, and the scares kept coming. Honestly, the sets were INSANE—so layered and atmospheric that I felt like I was living inside the story instead of just walking through it. The scares? Next level. I lost track of how many times I screamed, jumped, or nervously laughed.
Watch My Walkthrough 🎥
My full reaction video is already live on YouTube! I filmed my entire walkthrough—unedited—so you can see my raw, in-the-moment responses. Spoiler alert: I yell. A lot. If you’re a fan of haunted houses, Halloween haunts, or extreme scares, you’ll definitely want to watch (and maybe laugh at how hard I scream).
And for those who want a closer look at the insane set design, don’t worry—my POV walkthrough will be going up soon too, so you’ll get to experience every eerie detail right along with me.

Huge thanks to @ominousdescent for hosting me—it was one of the most terrifying (and fun) haunt nights I’ve had in Florida. If you want intensity, atmosphere, and scares that don’t quit, Ominous Descent: Resident Misery is the one to hit this Halloween season. 🎃
